Call for Fall 🍂🍁

October is here and that means pumpkin spice everything, sweater weather, shorter nights and of course HALLOWEEN!! And being from the New England area, we think of Salem….the mecca for all things ghoulish & gruesome; ghosts and goblins galore and of course, the witch trials.  Ahhhhh yes. 31 days of Ghostober has begun. My husband and I try to go to Salem every year, preferably at the end of September or the beginning of October. We refuse to go near Halloween, cuz it is carazayyyy there with people from all over the world visiting, long lines and foot traffic at a standstill.  It is a lot of fun seeing everyone dressed up in their costumes and enjoying all that the area has to offer. So, this past Sunday, we took the 45 minute ride trip to the ‘no man’s land’, even though the weather was cloudy & a lil chilly with a little bit of rain. People were still everywhere dressed to play the part. And you already know I had to join in and dress in a fun, bold, bright, and kinda ‘wacky’ jacket to add to the scene.  There were vendors and small businesses selling their food and merchandise at the commons, all while a one person band played tunes in the gazebo. I will say though, despite the weather, it was still the perfect Sunday to spend in Salem 🎃

The Writings on the Wall……or My Shirt?🖍

I’ve been on a hunt for art as backdrops for my pictures lately. I’m legit I-N-F-A-T-U-A-T-E-D with finding murals that blend perfectly with an outfit I put together. Something about finding amazing wall art to compliment any get up, plus I love supporting & showcasing talented artists’ work. So, when we were heading out to Naples for our end of the summer vacay, I knew I had to check out #ArtAveOn5th in downtown. About a 15 minute ride from where we were staying,we decided to head down there for dinner out first night in town. I just happened to bring an outfit with me that would look great with this backdrop (ok, maybe that was planned just a tiny itty bitty bit lol) but if I wore it there or not, we knew going to 5th Ave was in our agenda.  My favorite season was coming to an end and I had to go out with a bang in a see thru graffiti & denim number with some FMP thigh high denim peep toe boots to match. Yup, you got that right. No shame in my game or my outfit. I have a niché for this kind of thing, I guess. The writings were on the wall…..and on me. The perfect pair to say goodbye to summer 🙌

Fashionable Birthday B***h 💥

J-U-L-Y has arrived and I celebrate a milestone birthday….I turn the BIG 4-OH….today!!! I’m not gonna lie. My emotions all over the place….happy to circle another year around the sun but also scared because I am getting older but I am also excited for what the future holds. Makes sense right!? Well, since this year was a big one, my husband and I decided to go to Mexico to celebrate and you know ya girl came with the most fabulous birthday b***h outfit to rock in the Caribbean. All the glitz, glamour, sparkle, fabulosity and totally obnoxious was the look I was going for for my big day. It didn’t matter that it was 90+ degrees and I might have been sweating just a lil bit, as long as I felt like a million bucks for my birthday, it didn’t matter. Well, cheers to me and enjoying the rest of my bday trip!! Besos from Mexico!!😘

The Sun is Shining and So Am I 🌻☀️

Summer is one of my favorite seasons!!! I literally love everything about the summer….from the sunny days, going to the beach, staying outside later, and of course dressing in the most fun clothes…..all the above, I’m in love with it ALL! Plus my birthday is in the summer so that’s another reason I love it so much! I celebrate all summer long lol. When you think of summer though, you think of vacation and I don’t know about you, but when I think of vacation, I am thinking of outfits to wear on the daily. You know your girl has to have a matching outfit, with of course, matching shoes, and all complimenting jewelry/accessories in tow. How I pack is literally laying out each outfit I want to bring…including beach wear, dress wear, casual wear and bum wear (there’s levels to this sh*t lol), then finding the shoes to go with the outfits and then adding the fun accessories to the bunch. Before you know it, packing for a week’s vacation is looking more like a two month stay, well not quite, but you get my point. What can I say? I like to give myself options. A true fashionista at heart. That’s exactly what I did when I went away on two trips this summer (check out my latest posts on Trippin’ It With the Vegas’) and I couldn’t have loved my choices in what I brought! Pack light but bright I guess is the saying, right!?

Spring is in the Air 💐🌷🌺

Warmer weather is here which mean summer is near!!! And that also means adding brighter and more fun colors to our wardrobe. You already know my motto: the brighter, the bolder, the BETTER, so one of my fav things to do is switching over my closet when the warmer weather approaches. Blooming flowers, longer nights and happier moods embody what spring is all about. And taking advantage of the outdoors is something I enjoy, especially when we we’re all cooped up indoors for the winter. Spring is the first season after winter, where we get to wear our colorful, lightweight, clothing, & cutely manicured toes in sandals. I love everything about spring because it also means my fav season…SUMMER….is right around the corner!

VDay Swag ❤️🤍

Since this past year has been all about comfy caj, why would I not continue that fashion trend into the New Year? Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and although hubby and I are planning a little getaway (within our state), I might just be rocking this cute and perfect pj set from https://shopilovejewelry.com/.  Soft & super comfy, the sweatshirt can be personally monogrammed to your first true love…YOURSELF!  The snug yet playful heart pajama pants are all about V Day sayings like …..”Cutie Pie”, “True Love”, “Hugs” etc.  Add a pair of relaxing plush heart socks to complete this all out casual V Day wear curled up in bed with your loved one talking about sweet nothings or on the couch watching chick flicks with your bestie. Either way, you will be celebrating G/Valentine’s Day with the perfect quarantine LOVE ME swag!

There’s No Place Like Home…..for New Years 🎉

As we are approaching the last day of this crazy 2020 year, we take the time to look back at how we actually were able to get through it all. The ups and downs, the smiles and tears, the good times and the bad, whatever it is we went through, we prob learned a lot of things along the way. The important things like family and spending time with loved ones and the not so important things like when the next time we can go to to the salon to get our hair and nails done. Didn’t the latter make you realize what you can live without?

Looking back to April when I heard I couldn’t go to my hairdresser’s, I remember freaking out asking myself how am I gonna do my own hair. But with the right amount of will power and the help of some YouTube videos,  I was able to not only dye my own hair but cut it too, so much that I still am doing that today! The moral of me telling you this is, 2020 made us open our eyes to things we so luxuriously were doing/spending money on before, that we actually didn’t need to. Crazy how a pandemic makes you realize that you are a true SURVIVALIST and will adapt because you need to. How does that saying go? Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Ain’t that real talk right there? I know you can relate to my story above too.

So, another year has gone, a rollercoaster one at that, and usually to bring in the New Year, my hubby and I like to have a night or two away to celebrate and reminisce of the year we just surpassed. Of course, this year was a little different. No going away due to the restricted guidelines because of the pandemic. No big ass hotel party with hundreds of partygoers whom we made friends with. No nice dinner beforehand at a fav local restaurant. None of those. This was the first NYE where we weren’t doing any of those things. But, we had each other and threw our own party for two at our own home. Plus, I had an abundance of wine & coquito continuously flowing with a smorgasborg of delicious dishes and of course my glitter in full swing! Oh you know I had to dress up in a cute outfit! I mean, how could I not considering we were ringing in the New Year, regardless if it was just to sit on our living room couch watching the ball drop? Ahhh yes, glittery top made an appearance, my love next to me, wine in one hand and our memories of the past year on our mind. To me, being a total party goer and wanting to go ‘all out’, this year we did just that. By ourselves and it was perfect.  And because I love taking  pictures, a stay at home photoshoot NYE edition was a must lol

What are your plans for NYE? Are you getting dressed up? And if so, what are you gonna wear?

A Casual Christmas 🎁

Well, if this wasn’t an unusual holiday celebration for us?!?

This was the first year since my husband and I started dating, that we did not spend Christmas with our families. Every year, for the past 15 years, we would rotate Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrating with my family in Boston (where we live) or with my in laws in Brooklyn (where my hubby’s from).  This year, with everything going on with Covid, we decided to spend the holiday just me and him. Was it a little sad? It was, but it was also a little bittersweet too, since we never spent the holiday alone since we met. This year, we didn’t go crazy at all trying to plan a xmas dinner menu for many, going shopping for a bunch and didn’t have to run all over the place non-stop. We stayed in the comfort of our own home making our own memories together.

Growing up Italian & my husband growing up Puerto Rican, Christmas Eve is the big party night for us with lots of food, drink, music and fun times with our families. It is also the night where we get decked out in a nice outfit….xmas day is spent in your pj’s. And just because I spent the night at home with my husband alone, that wasn’t gonna stop this fashionista from getting all dolled up. You best believin’, I actually got dressed…….and not in my quarantine sweats either. It was nice to put on a full face of makeup, do my hair and rock a fun outfit for the night on the couch. Hey, I don’t care. It made me feel a little normal to this ‘abnormal’ year.

And so bring out my black on black attire …tank and pants….with my 🔥 Jacket from http://www.shopakira.com to add a little POP 💥  to the dark undertone. Threw on some Rose Gold Metallic heels to ‘SHINE’ throughout the night…..although I did take them off after a few lol…..notice my red toes ❤️

What were your holiday plans? Did you get dressed up too? What is your favorite holiday outfit to wear?

The Ghostess with the Mostest 👻

It’s Halloween ya’ll and what a great way to showcase some costumes from over the years from your girl, moi, the Ghostess with the Mostest! Ever since I can remember, I loved playing dress up whether it be for October 31st or not. Come on, you all should know me by now…… 🤷🏻‍♀️

As a kid, one of my fav days was Halloween…..I mean, what child doesn’t want to get dressed up in their favorite costume and go trick or treating with their friends collecting all that delicious candy? I must confess, that even in my adult years, I still love putting on a costume and enjoying this ‘fright night’ to the fullest! And when I met my hubby, we started dressing up together too, even with matching costumes. Yep, we are THAT couple lol. You’ll see in the pics below.

Even though this year is a little different due to CV-19, that’s not gonna stop me from getting in the Halloween spirit. 🎃  ☠️

So, have a very happy, safe & healthy Halloween! And let me know what you think of my ‘ghostly gear from past years’ and all things Halloween, with a comment below!!

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an escapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”

~Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.

In the recent months, it has been upsetting turning on the news especially when we, as a national whole, watched a police officer kill George Floyd in broad daylight by kneeling on his neck for almost nine minutes. It not only was devastating, but heartbreaking to us all, seeing this murder being taped for all of us to watch, as the other officers at the scene, did nothing to stop it while George Floyd yelled that he couldn’t breathe. I’ve never watched something so inhumane, brutal and callous in my life. Yet, we still keep seeing this type of racism happen before George Floyd and sadly, even after him. This should never have happened in the past, this should never happen presently, and this should never happen in the future. Enough is enough! We are all one race and that is the H U M A N race and we all should be treated equally and justly. BLACK. LIVES. MATTER.

We should all be kind, be loving, be compassionate and be supportive of one another. And that includes in business as well. I decided to write this fashion post to highlight some amazing companies that I have bought from and have showcased on my IG page over the years. Female owned, black owned & small business owned….boutiques & cute shops that feature different, funky & fun pieces of clothing, from accessories, to shoes & of course bags! Check these out below (hover over the pic to get the description) and click on the pics to be redirected to the businesses’ sites, and most importantly, show some love with a purchase!
